Mila Djordjevic is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who brings eight years of experience working alongside children and youth as an educator in schools. Her background in education and school counselling gives her a unique understanding of the many challenges young people and families can experience while navigating school, learning needs, and the transition into new stages of life.
Mila is passionate about supporting children and youth as they develop a stronger sense of who they are, recognize their strengths, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. Her counselling work includes career and identity exploration, life transitions, changes in relationships, goal setting, and advocacy for learning needs. She finds it especially meaningful to walk alongside young people as they discover what matters to them and learn to advocate for themselves.
Mila takes a warm, client-centered, strengths-based approach to counselling. She recognizes that every person’s experiences are shaped by the many parts of their lives, including their physical, emotional, mental, social, and relational well-being. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Mila draws from a range of counselling theories and approaches to meet each client where they are and support them in working toward their own goals.
As a second-generation Canadian, Mila has also explored her own cultural identity through her counselling journey. This has deepened her appreciation for the ways culture, family, and identity can shape our experiences and understanding of ourselves. Mila is committed to culturally responsive practice and creating a counselling space where clients feel welcomed, respected, understood, and able to show up as their whole selves.
Mila believes that young people deserve to feel heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate the ups and downs of growing up. She is honoured to walk alongside her clients and families as they build confidence, understand themselves more deeply, and find their own path forward.
